If you want to know why 4th grade is such a transition, look at our standards.  This is what our students are expected to learn this year and what they will be tested on for ISTEP+ in the spring.

Indiana has pulled out of "Common Core".  Below is Indiana's version of common core.

FOURTH GRADE

1 pkg Paper, white, wide ruled
2 three subject spiral notebooks
2 packs #2 regular pencils (sharpened)
2 highlighters (different colors)
Crayons (24 or less)
Markers (thin, fineline)
Scissors (Fiskars, recommended)
2 Glue sticks
1 four ounce bottle white glue
Supply box or case (plastic) 5 x 2 1/2 x 12 1/2 to hold 12 in ruler
